Found most abundantly in hemp, consumers across the world rave about its beneficial and potential medicinal properties. Short for cannabidiol, CBD is a cannabinoid that’s derived from cannabis plants.
Cannabis plants contain active compounds known as cannabinoids, or more specifically, phytocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids appear to provide most of the benefits that come from cannabis. Us humans also produce our own cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids, to help regulate our endocannabinoid system and better achieve homeostasis.
Terpenes are known as aromatic molecules, found in a variety of herbs and vegetation that humans utilize. The terpene profile of a hemp strain is what gives it its unique smell and flavor composition. Certain terpenes may possess their own medicinal or beneficial properties, adding to what CBD can offer.
Found in almost all vegetables and fruits, flavonoids are the largest group of phytonutrients, with over 6,000 different types. They’re responsible for the vivid colors’ plants have and may have properties of their own that help improve CBD’s benefits. We’re proud that our CBD products contain other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids to amplify the experience.
Some think there’s a difference between cannabis and hemp. However, hemp is part of the cannabis plant family, so all hemp plants are considered a type of cannabis. Therefore, a cannabis CBD oil and a hemp CBD oil are essentially the same thing. The only difference would be if the cannabis CBD oil were extracted through a marijuana strain rather than a hemp strain.
While marijuana is still part of the Controlled Substances Act on a federal level, hemp was removed from this list through the Farm Bill, and states were given the right to determine their own industrial hemp plans from there. There are some states that have restricted the sale and use of hemp products, but federally, hemp-derived products are legal for cultivation, use, and sale when following all proper US regulations.
Often confused for the same thing, hemp and marijuana are two classifications of plants from the same cannabis plant family. The 2018 Farm Bill changed the legal definition of hemp to mean any cannabis strain that contains less than 0.3% THC, so any cannabis strain containing more than that limit is considered marijuana.
CBD is extracted from the whole hemp plant, while hemp seed oil is just produced with the plant’s seeds. While hemp seed oil may contain some vitamins and nutrients, as well as protein, hemp seed oil does not contain significant amounts of CBD.
Hemp seed oil is extracted purely from the seeds, which does not contain detectable quantities of cannabinoids. Hemp oil is derived from the whole plant, including the stalks, flowers, and leaves.
Some raw hemp extracts could contain trace amounts of THC. However, through our refinement and removal steps of the process, there are no detectable levels of THC in the final products.
In some cases, depending on the hemp strain, a raw hemp extract could contain trace amounts of THC. However, to abide by the legal definition of industrial hemp, the extract would still contain 0.3% THC or less.
While some people believe CBD may have some mind-altering effects, it does not have the psychoactive effects of THC. On the contrary, you can be sure our CBD products will not get you high.
CBD and THC are not the same thing, so you won’t feel any psychoactive effects from cannabidiol. Everyone is different, so it may take some experimenting to find the desired strength for your needs. Though some believe it may stimulate a relaxing effect, that effect can still depend on a variety of factors, including the rate at which you consume the CBD product, your body mass and metabolism, how much you consumed in that time frame, and much more.
Yes, our products undergo rigorous testing to meet and exceed the standards that guarantee they’re free of any potential pollutants or contaminants. There are no known incidences of injury or illness caused by CBD oil consumption or use.
There is no record of overdose or reported fatal dose amount for CBD. Cannabidiol is completely non-toxic. You cannot overdose on CBD or our CBD products.
Some people do report much larger servings of CBD has the potential to cause diarrhea, drowsiness, and a fluctuation in blood pressure. This varies for everyone, but it’s also why we recommend speaking with a certified medical professional or physician before incorporating our CBD products into your daily routine.
Depending on the product and the reason it’s being used, you can take CBD multiple times a day or at specific, strategic times of the day. Certain products may be geared more towards morning or evening use, but we’ll always specify that. For our CBD tinctures, we recommend taking day or night, depending on your individual needs.
People take CBD to promote general wellness, so it’s ideal for someone even if they’re already healthy. Some researchers conclude that CBD’s ability to help support the body’s ability to achieve homeostasis is why it can benefit people who don’t have any presenting concerns.
Though it’s not a requirement, we certainly recommend refrigerating all your CBD products, and if that’s not an option, keep them in a cool, dry place. Ensure they’re kept in airtight containers that remain closed, and make sure they stay out of direct sunlight or heat to maintain potency.
